Red Rocks. Brief trip report.

Hi everyone!

Rita and I got back from Red Rocks last night. What a great place! It has every type of climbs available at every level of difficulty.
We decided to concentrate on easy/moderate multi-pitch classic trad routes.
First day we warmed up and got a feel for the rock type on some shorter 1-2 pitch trad climbs (total of 7 pitches of 5.6-5.8 climbing)
In the next 4 days we climbed:
Cat in the Hat (5.6, 6 pitches, 650 feet)
Dark Shadows (5.8, 4 pitches, 350 feet)
Frogland (5.8, 6 pitches, 700 feet)
Black Magic (5.8, 4 pitches, 580 feet)
Crimson Chrysalis (5.8, 9 pitches, 1000 feet)

All routes were totally worthwhile and deserved their 3-star ratings in the guidebook.

Then we payed brief, 1-day visits to Zion and Bryce canyons and finished the trip with half a day of sport-climbing before our Sunday afternoon flight out of Las Vegas back home.
